THE KOI STORY
The journey of KOI commenced long before Reynold Poernomo was inducted into Masterchef’s dessert hall of fame. In fact, it began in a tiny garage in 2012, where his Mother, Ike Malada, started operations with only $300, to support the family.
KOI, which stands for 'Kids of Ike', is now operated by brothers Ronald, Arnold and Reynold Poernomo, who have come together to deliver an experience that arouses and excites the senses.
The youngest of the Poernomo Brothers, Reynold is a master of creativity and a marksman in crafting imaginative food. With a passion for taking diners on a journey through taste and texture, Reynold has a knack for delivering a feast for the senses. Alongside his brothers, Reynold continues to put on a impeccable display for KOI’s diners, as you may have witnessed on Masterchef Australia.
Arnold is the mastermind behind crafting dishes which are packed to the brink with flavour. After spending years in Indonesia and Australia and learning from the cream of the crop in the industry, Arnold enjoys re-inventing classics and delivering a tasteful surprise with each bite. Working seamlessly with his brothers, the boys have used their strengths to craft a Dinining Experience inspired by their Indonesian heritage.
The glue to the team and the entire organisation, Ronald is a multi-talented and uber-skilled team member who drives all facets of the business. When we say multi-talented, we mean it, as Ronald is often seen assisting his brothers in the kitchen, demonstrating customer service, planning business growth, seamlessly ensuring smooth operations and much more.
